Choices, Choices, Choices

Ok, so if you have ever had me photograph your wedding or you have come in for a portrait session...you know I am all about choices...I shoot allot of images, allot of poses, and allow you to mix and match to get just what you want...

well why should your Christmas card choices be any different...I found some fabulous contemporary designs recently and instead of offering 3 or 4 or 5 designs like so many of my competitors...I have 10 of the boutique designs then 2 more designs that each come in 6 different color schemes each...that's 22 design choices in all...here they are....

and if you love them...They are 2.00 per card with only a 10 card minimum. These are 5x7 cards and are printed as photographs on professional photo paper by my pro lab-just like my portraits. They come with envelopes too...all you have to do is address, stamp, and mail.

Call me today to schedule a sitting in the next week, or to place your order....725-0695.

Merry Christmas!

Catie & Chris-Orr's Island Wedding

Saturday June 14th was a gorgeous day here in Maine to be outside enjoying just about any activity...for Catie and Chris it was a beautiful day to get married by the ocean. Catie was married in the same spot as her dad and several other family members on private property on Orr's Island-a small island just outside of Brunswick. It is beautiful tradition in a beautiful place.

The couple met at the gym and both love spending time outdoors-in fact Catie was once a guide in the Forks, so this wedding day was the perfect fit for them both.

And I have to say, they had one of the most unique, amazing cakes I have ever seen...trimmed with cedar, blueberries, small pine cones, and birch bark, all sitting on a piece of wood that came from the property that they were married on.

Here are some of my favorites from today-and with a beautiful day in such a great location and an amazing couple, it was hard to choose just a few.

Congratulations Catie and Chris.

Maria & Matt's Wedding

After recharging (both my camera batteries and MY batteries) overnight and allowing the skies to clear, I headed off to Portland on Sunday morning June 1st to shoot the wedding of Maria and Matt at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Their pastor told the beautiful story of how the 2 met through the choir and the progressing of their falling in love. And now to the beginning of a new family, of Matt, Maria and Maria's son-Tyler.

Their reception was at Verrillo's also in Portland, where happiness filled the entire place, from everyone there-friends, family, church family and of course the bride and groom.

Here are some of my favorites from their day.

Congratulations to you all-Maria, Matt and Tyler.

Jessica and Bryan-Harraseeket Inn

The rain came back again for this Saturday's wedding and what had planned to be a garden wedding had to be held inside. But the skies cleared just enough after the ceremony to get a few outside photos.

Even though the weather was cloudy, this couple was beaming! The smiles on their faces and the the sparkles in their eyes were evidence of a bright future!

Here are some of my favorites from the day. Take a close look in particular to the cake photo where Bryan is feeding Jessica! (look at both his mouth and hers...) I love it! Open wide!

Congratulations on a beautiful wedding Jess and Bryan!

Becca and Fred-Camden, Maine

I had the privilege to capture the union of Becca and Fred this past weekend...The rain came out briefly but they were able to still have an amazing outdoor ceremony at the Camden Library Ampitheater.

It was a special day for not only them but one of their attendants as well. (Unfortunately that is all I can share with you at this time.) One of the things I love about my job is never getting tired of being there when two people this much in love make their life long commitment to each other.

Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Congratulations Becca and Fred.

Courtney and Kevin-Captain Daniel Stone Inn

I had the pleasure to begin my wedding season with this fun loving, go with the flow couple on Saturday April 26th. They were married at the Universalist Unitarian Church on Pleasant Street in Brunswick.

We stopped by the water to take a few photos before the celebration continued with a fun and elegant reception at the Captain Daniel Stone Inn. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Congratulations Courtney and Kevin!

WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association)

I was recently honored to be accepted as a member to this elite international group of photographers. Only 5% of all wedding photographers are chosen to be a member of WPJA so it is quite an honor.

You can not just pay for membership as with so many other professional organizations...you must apply, have your work critiqued, meet all of the high standards and qualifications of the organization, and be accepted.

Its quite a process and one I admit I was a little scared of, since there are many who do not get in. I personally know some great photographers who have applied more than once to finally get in, some have applied and never been accepted. I finally decided to take the plunge for the first time this winter and was waiting on pins and needles for the several weeks it takes to receive their answer.

Words can't tell you how elated I was when the email arrived saying yes indeed I had what they want with my very first application. Thank you to all of my wedding clients, past and present who have known all along... :)

The BEST of Maine Weddings

I was honored this fall with a phone call from the producers of "The Best of..." series (The Best of Portland, etc). They produced a half hour show titled the Best of Maine Weddings. It features 3 wedding ceremony/receptions sites and some of the best wedding vendors in the state. I was asked to participate as The Best of Maine Weddings Photographer.

The show is now airing on Fox 23 out of Portland, Maine. The show runs from Jan 18th-March 10th, 2008 on Fridays at 1:30pm, Sundays at 8am and 10am, and Mondays at 11:30am. It certainly doesn't even begin to cover all of what I do for my clients, or the wide scope of my images but you do get the rare glimpse of me....I HATE having my photo taken :) I am much better on this side of the camera.

If you don't live in the viewing area, stay tuned...there will be a link soon on my website to view at least my part of the show.

If you have caught the show, I would love any feedback you may have...feel free to post here.

Happy NEW year!

Well I am so excited...I have a new site that has just gone live. I have been tremendously busy this holiday season.

My new years resolution is to be better at the blog. Even if I can only get one photo per session up.

I was going through the images for the new site this past week and realized that I shot over 30,000 wedding images and another 10-15,000 portrait images this year! Holy Cow!

I am so excited to share some of them with you! Here are a few...
