Everett & Sheldon

Meet 3 month old Everett. I have been photographing big brother Sheldon, since Sheldon was 3 months old himself (he is now almost 3 and a half). Today I went to their home but inspite of their mom's best efforts, both boys decided they didn't want to nap. I plan to go back soon to catch some smiles, but even though they were both tired, we did get a few nice shots that I wanted to share. I am mentioning this because if we have a session scheduled and for some reason things just don't go the way we had all hoped (and it does happen occassionally and kids are sometimes unpredicable-and I am a mom and I completely understand that!). I will come back and try again at no additional cost. Its rare this happens but once in a while, it does happen. I will be sure to post images from our next session to be held in the next couple of weeks. They may not have been full of smiles, but aren't they adorable anyway? :)

Happy BIRTH day!!

Something that brings me as much joy as photographing someones wedding, is photographing the birth of a child.
Sometimes when I bring up birth photography the initial reaction is "eww" but I think it is something so amazing and special, especially if you are one of these moms who look back after a year, 2 years, or more and re-live these moments that seem to be such a long ago time, before potty training, and preschool.
When I photograph a birth, I capture the emotions, the essence but nothing graphic. I want these images to be ones that the child being born will cherish themselves someday.

For more info on my birth photography services and more sample images, please visit my website at www.roxannesphotos.com

P.S. I should note that these images are just a few each from 5 different births...not the same one, some were natural births, some were C Sections, all were beautiful :)

Annabelle

This week I had the pleasure of meeting Annabelle. She is the adorable product of Rachel and Mark, a 2010 wedding couple of mine. Annabelle is 3 months old and we had so much fun we are already planning to see each other again in the warmer weather to do more photos as she grows.
In Novemeber, as many of you may already know, I closed my "official" portrait studio. It was a personal decision because of the many changes in my personal life over the last couple of years since my husband passed away. It did NOT mean I was no longer shooting portraits, in fact, it has allowed me more time to concentrate on what the majority of my work has been all along...lifestyle portraiture and weddings...shoots like this one.
So if you were disappointed thinking I could no longer shoot your family...well, the great news is, I am still very much available to continue photographing your lives and now, you never even have to leave home if you don't want to!!
Hope to work with you soon! XO-Roxanne
P.S. Please visit my Facebook page to see more images from this shoot and catch all the latest happenings at Roxanne Ashey Photography

Where's Roxie-Week 6

Ok, so last week yes I was in Freeport, I took some images of the famous Boot there too and I will post some of those later on. I didn't use them because I didn't want to "give it away" but everyone thought it was an easy one anyway!
SO......let's see how well you do this week, this should be much harder for those of you who like a challange.
I will give one hint...the black and white photo of the brick house below was once the residence of a famous Maine author.....ok, let the guessing begin!
See you next week!
XO-Rox
